Intense training creates oxidative stress, tissue micro-damage, and mitochondrial fatigue. At Meta Recovery Lab in Limassol, we offer a physician-supervised programme combining Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), Intermittent Hypoxic Training (IHHT), and IV Micronutrients as a complementary approach for athletic recovery.
What the Programme Includes
Every participant undergoes a medical screening before starting. The programme may include:
- HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy): Breathing pure oxygen under pressure in a medical-grade chamber. May accelerate tissue repair, reduce inflammation, and support recovery between training sessions.
- IHHT (Intermittent Hypoxic Training): Altitude-simulation breathing that may stimulate mitochondrial biogenesis and cardiovascular adaptation. Often used by endurance athletes to support VO2 max.
- IV Micronutrients: Glutathione and Vitamin C delivered intravenously. May help manage exercise-induced oxidative stress and support immune function during high training loads.
- Medical Monitoring: Cardiologist and pulmonologist present during every session.
Who It May Help
This programme is designed for:
- Amateur and professional athletes seeking faster recovery
- Endurance athletes (running, cycling, triathlon) preparing for competition
- Individuals returning to training after injury
- Those experiencing persistent fatigue despite adequate rest
Evidence-Based, Physician-Led
HBOT and IHHT are used in sports medicine as supportive recovery tools. While individual results may vary, research suggests these modalities may aid in tissue oxygenation and mitochondrial efficiency. This is a medical practice — not a spa.
